I don't believe you can change the frequency.

I don't suppose there is any way to increase the frequency that BIS pushes your mail to you, is there?
It is that, and the fact that BIS doesn't fully sync with my pop3 accounts for reads/deletes, that has may considering trying a 3rd party POP3 client on my BB.

I just forward my email so it is instant. But I do have one account that it polls every 5 minutes. I wish it was instant, but 5 minutes is pretty good.

Some take a bit longer than others. No, you can't speed that process up.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
The normal BIS polling is 15 minutes. Once the BIS detects an email in your account, it will poll every 2 minutes until no more email is found. Then it will reset to the 15 minute interval.
Gmail and a few others are instant but that is because of their agreement in place with RIM.
