    Smile BIS and Different Phone Operator Question

    Just bought a Pearl for my wife. It's locked to T-Mobile UK and she is with Orange UK with a long time left on her contract. How do I go about setting up BIS? From what I can work out the Pearl's IMEI is registered to TMO as it doesn't work with Vodafone's BIS site (the one I use). Do I have to register her with an Orange BB plan, and if so, how do I then register for BIS with Orange? Finally, my company will be setting up BES soon: would setting her up via BES be a better/easier option for accessing her POP email account?

    Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!

    First of all if you would like to use the BB with another carrier than the one its lock too you'll need to get it unlocked.
    When it will be unlocked you should be able to use it with every carrier that supports BB

    Thanks Sn1p3r and good to know. All will no doubt become clear when I get the thing unlocked - not the easiest thing in UK apparently as no one has the right software. T-Mobile say 28 working days to provide it :cry:

    Just answered the rest of my own question - for once! Managed to get the TMO-UK Pearl unlocked, put in my Voda SIM (which had been registered for BB services) and hey-presto, all BIS access via Voda automatically available: could register the new handset via Voda's BIS website and everything updated. Seems that everything is 'attached' to the SIM and your account.
