Lightbulb BB sending large data every night - why?

I cannot seem to find the answer to this question. Does anyone know?
I have the BB Pearl with the BIS enabled. I have noticed that in the middle of each night the BB transfers a lot of data to 'blackberry.net'.

I'm not using the phone then - so what is it doing and why?

    Thanks!!

There have been some network upgrades recently, but I haven't watched my phone during those so I don't know if it would cause that type of behavior.

I only noticed when I looked at by bill which shows a timestamp and amount of data.
Just wondering what it's doing *every*night...

I just started having the same thing happen. It started about 3 days ago.
I am also getting a SOS with a red Y Icon for the connection. It says sim failure. I have to remove the battery and it is ok for awhile.
8310 ATT with BIS don't know if the 2 are connected.

Maybe it is indeed a SIM card failure, Raven71, and you need to change it. Count
yourself lucky -- I've had SIMs fail silently, and it took troubleshooting to find out what was going on.

As for the night data flurry... is there a hint in your Log entries? Clear the Log if necessary and see what new entries show up.

[To get to the Log, in your main screen keep ALT pressed and hit L G L G]
