A true Troubleshooter's question- here is a typical user answer (haha)

It seems like everytime I try to do it I get an RED X.

Okay I just attempted to recreate my problem and it happened again.

Tried to forward my response to a previous email to someone. I selected "FORWARD" option and entered email address...RED X

    Re: A red X?

    1) Which email address was the original message received with?
Sometimes emails can be deleted after a while from the server but stay on your BB, therefore when you forward the email you may get the red X.

    2) Which email address are you using to forward the email?
If you try another email address to use when forwarding and get the red x you may have a problem with a service book.

    3) Can you forward any other emails?
If Yes I believe it has something to do with the original email, if No I believe a service book issue.

I think its a service book issue.

Original email was sent today. I recieved it on a pop 3 email I have configured on BB. I attemped to forward my response to another email address on a exchange server.

Have you tried to delete your service book related to that email address? Then log into BIS and resend it, problem should be solved, hopefully.

Go into options, advanced, service book, then delete the address in question, for example.... servicebook[cmime]. Then log into webclient and resend service books.

I have BB 8703e. When I send or reply to any E-mail I got X. In our company wE have about 14 BB. WE are using BES 4.1 I have the desktop manager 4.1 I tried different ways to solve this problem but I couldn't solve it. (1)I wiped out my BB and removed my name from BES I add my name and acvtivate the Enterprise activation and synch from my desk top, (2) I deleted the service book from th option and re register it again and run Enterprise Activation. (3) I Removed my name from BES wiped my BB and restart the BES run Enterprise Activation and synch. No LUCK please HELP!!. I know there is somebody out there who could help me.
BTW, I checked the event view from BES I found this message" {segzi@mhcinc.org} Send [] failed: ERR_COULDNT_GET_ORIGINAL_MSG, Tag=156832"
In our company we are using MS Exchange 2003.

    Re: A red X?

I am having the same problem sporadicly with some users, I created a VM and put another BES server there, migrated all the users, thats when it started. I still have the old server connected. It seems to me this is a resolution error, a DNS error, not being able to resolve some addresses, because doesnt happen to all users.
I gave the new server SMTP relay permissions on Exchange to see if this has anything to do with it, have resent the address book and user policy to the users with problems too.

So far I havent had the error again, was just when I moved my account, so I think a refresh or restart on my unit worked for me.

Check your DNS access on that server.

Hey guys. I was having the "red X problem" when trying to send MMS. No matter how many times I hit resend, it would just refresh to a red X over and over, very frustrating. Turning off the wireless and then turning it back on did the trjck. Who knew? I didn't think of something so trivial but I'm so glad I found it here on Pinstack! Thanks guys!!

    I couldn't survive without Pinstack!
