Yes, it's installed and it partitioned it, so I have a choice of Ubuntu or Windows XP. Is there a way to delete the Win partition?

Well it looks like my computer doesn't have the option to boot from USB. Great!
Will have to buy a bigger disc I guess.

Ok, I'm back. Restart your pc and it should definitely give you a choice to boot up from the usb when you're running xp what drive is the usb labeled as? Try to run it from the boot up windows when restarting your pc or if not try to reinstall ubuntu from the usb itself and then follow the instructions. It does give you the choice to either run it as partition or to delete the partition and run ubuntu as the main operating system. Lemme know if you still have more questions.

try reloading ubuntu thru windows xp and once you're installing it ubuntu should let you choose between partition and/or to delete the partition and start clean slate. I believe it's under step #2 or #3 if i'm not mistaken.

My only problem, although not a dealbreaker, is that Ubuntu uses up the battery in my netbook a lot faster.
