Actually BB maps does not have anything stored or preloaded either. It has to query an outside server for all the data.

Got mapquest navigator loaded, great program. Turn by turn directions, works great and free, doesn't get much better than that.

On the Mapquest website it says Sprint/Nextel BB's get a 30 day free trial. Does that mean the rest of us only have 30 days free?

You can sign up for the trial directly with Telenav as well (and perform an OTA install).

I've found that BBmaps seems to have problems locking on satellites and updating despite that it obviously uses the same hardware. IMO it's not worth using.

I'd recommend just going to their site to install. IIRC it should send you the link.

Takeshi, once you downloaded the application did you have to mess with anything? Mine downloaded but I cannot get past the screen with the car ... Thanks

Hmm, I don't recall having to do anything. Have you tried a battery pull?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Any app that access the internet on your BB uses your data plan...
