    SirfIII versus not-SirfIII

I am looking at pucks, but would be an occasional user. Thus, I don't want to spend a lot. My question is, what am I really losing in going with something like the link below, versus a SirfIII chipset? If I am using it to find my way *sometimes*, would it make a big difference?

    Re: SirfIII versus not-SirfIII

SiRFstar III is able to pick up signals a lot quicker (Time to First Fix) and is more forgiving in urban environments (my SirfIII chipset still keeps signal when my Garmin handheld loses signal in Chicago).

Honestly, spend a few extra dollars and get the SirfIII ones, and then you'll find it invaluable and want to keep using it, versus one that kinda sucks that will end up in the tech junk drawer.
