What do you mean by GPS app? Ties to your gps system? Or causes your pearl to work as GPS? Navizon seems to be popular today.
    Knowledge first, in everything.
    World domination second.

hmm with out bluetooth tethering to an actual GPS device there is no true "gps" on the pearl

what all those apps do is find places in your local area.

think digital yellow pages but a bit better

For example if you tell say Infospace Find IT that your home location is 90210,
it will find restaurants, banks, grocery stores, and places of interest in relation to
    that specified zip code

    um...creepy j- ^^

i've been reading that navizon isn't working...

i've used google maps - for free - with my gps www.google.com/gmm from your bb.
(its pretty good...much better than bb maps)
and..i've used telenav (its subscription based thru your carrier). telenav gives you voice turn by turns...which is cool if you are trying to smoke and put on mascara don't have to look hehe..ok..j/p

Re: Looking for a GPS app...

I tried ggogle maps with the new GPS puck connection. It is cool to follow your blue dot on a map or sattelite image, but otherwise useless. Limited to no options, directions don't change when you take turns, map doesn't scroll, can't change anything if you go a different way. Pretty useless, beyond the "cool" factor in terms of navigation software.
BB maps is better, giving pretty good instructions, but no voice directions. More otions, also can't alter
directions if you take a wrong turn, or want to go a different way.
If you want true navigation software, I think you will need Telenav or Wayfinder and pay for them. Ya get what you pay for (more or less).

Google maps does work with GPS, but not with all BB Phones and not with all carriers. Check google's help section: http google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=39894&topic=9120
