    GPS Software

    hello pinstackers.. haha

I just purchase a BT-359 GPS Receiver, its so small and neat! I tried it with BBMAPS but kinda isnt really a nice software for GPS. Anyone have a specific software that they use and how much they got it for?

I was thinking about the TomTom Software (w/voice) but the graphic and interface looks very cartoonish and cheesy.

Oncourse looks okay but I dont know if it have voice command when i approach to a turn.

    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

I was looking at your post and I have to tell you a few things before you spend too much money. I have had a little experience with most of the GPS out there and to be honest why spend 500-600 dollars on a unit that has a life expectancy of 2-3 years. Why not invest 10 dollars a month in a service like TeleNav. Have you heard of them?

As for the Tom Tom it sucks. Garmin's C 550 puts it to shame from what i have seen.

I downloaded it and I'll do a review of it tomorrow. From what little I have seen it's a very broad program. You have to do a lot of pick and choose to get it set up for the 8100. The fact that you have to change Java settings in the second step to install it made me raise an eyebrow. Just my 2 cents.

    More to come soon.................

get the holux GPSlim. Thats the one I got and it so small you can put it around your neck. It's just a little thicker than a thumb drive but that's it.

    Re: GPS Software

I signed up for TeleNav and bought a GPS puck and while TeleNav is nice and all, I'd rather have a regular GPS unit. Maybe it was the brand puck I bought, but it just seemed like a pain in the butt to aquire a signal. I'll cancel TeleNav and keep the puck as a backup, but I'm going back to the regular GPS unit.
