Why do you need a GPS for WiFi? The range of WiFi is limited to 100 Metres, and that is assuming ideal conditions (open space). It is generally shorter. Granted it is a 100 Metre radius.

Why do you need a GPS for that?

You could probably walk the whole area as fast as the GPS would track your location.

Besides Ge's points, yes they should work on WiFi. When you're connected to a wifi hotspot, all of your data communications go through it.

I just tried google maps on my Bold using WiFi and it works fine. Do you have the latest version?

Shouldn't make a difference. If you can get a WiFi signal, Google maps should be able to get you the directions

Do you have GPS on your BlackBerry?
