I know this is not a full BB answer. I have the hotspots@home and it does work from any wifi you can log on to. The TMO router gives the call first dibs on the data flow. Another thought you might try is a wifi phone. We used one with broadvoice/com before TMO came out with hotspots. The phone looks and works like a cell phone with voice mail and all. I used mine for travel and after Hurricane Ivan before we had phone service back and cell towers were down. It's ten buck a month for a state plan. And no counting mins. Lingo works for Europian calls too. I do prefer my BB but the wifi phone turned out to be very useful and cheap.

    Here it is

Ok guys when you wifi if you don't have the 9.99 feature for the hotspot feature then it takes directly from your plan. N and W start at the area code you are in. or if international the home zip code.
