    wi-fi in France

    Hello from Paris

Having mixed results using wifi here in France.

My hotel has a hot spot, using my Curve 8320 I can find the signal but when i run the wifi diagnostics BB says "network aquired" but "authentication failure".

BY the way, I have 2 or 3 bars of EDGE signal after a battery pull. Still nothing.

The hotel is using a Linksys WRT54GL. I have unlimited data at home with ATT on BIS.

I can connect down the street a the cafe, by the way.

    What shall I try next?

    Thanks!

Sometimes hotels have taken measures to keep mobile phones from connecting. I had some issues with that in the US when I traveled.

Even if the wifi is "free" at the hotel, but they have a webpage that comes up when you connect forcing you to click on "I agree" or similar, your BB probably will not connect. Since it doesn't know how to get past that, it may not work. I had that issue when I was in Orlando at a hotel with free wifi, worked with laptop but not BB.

So the level of "openness" at the coffee place up the street is lower?

    Is there workarounds?

    Thanks
