| Unable to connect to WPA Network
I read another thread on the board about not needing to configure anything on the BB for connecting to a WPA network but when I tried my connection failed. Can anyone give me step by step instructions for the 8320? My networks SSD is not broadcasting though I manually entered it in. The first time I connected with no security, I've tried also using the PSK Option and putting int he PSK i saved to the router both ways cause a connection failed error though.

i had the same problem with my network. i changed the router to broadcast the ssd then searched for wifi on the blackberry. it found it right away. saved the address and set the router back to not broadcasting and it sees it now.

You may also want to check on the router side like turn off or create a MAC address profile for the 8320 and all the ports are open.

I'm also having problems with a WPA network with my 8320. The BB sees the network, connects to the network, gets an IP address from the network, but... that's it. The BB can't ping the wireless gateway, other machines on the network, nor itself (in the ping self mode). DNS resolution doesn't work over WiFi either (thus WiFi browsing fails with name resolution failures). Other machines on the network can't ping the BlackBerry. It is definitely associated with the access point, as both the AP and the BB confirm that. Here is my WiFi diagnostic output: Quote:

try to unplug the router and it may work. It works for me. I have wpa2 tkip and mac filtering and this really helps. Open networks are a breeze it works everytime once profile is created.

| Re: Unable to connect to WPA Network
Restarting the WAP had no effect. I've tested the BB on open networks, so I am fairly sure it is an encryption related incompatibility (since there is no MAC filtering, or other such things). It could be my use of CCMP in an otherwise WPA1 configuration, but the configuration hasn't had any problems with other devices. I'll try switching the pairwise to TKIP and see if that has an effect. |

| Re: Unable to connect to WPA Network
From the threads I have read all seem to be router related. I was having the same problems until I switched routers. Now all my laptops which were working fine anyway and now my 8820 works flawlessly. I switched from airlink with MIMO technolgy to a linksys. If you are using a router with MIMO tech it may be a problem. Please tell us what routers people are using so we can determine and post what routers works and those that seem to post problems. The switch of routers was the key and seems to be the answers for others ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
