Question BB CA Certificate Chain Expired??

    Hi Everyone,

My college uses wifi points with wpa authentication.

They for a user/pass authentication, but I've noticed that I have to manually specify the certificate on the BB to connect (it won't pick it up automatically...not sure why).

Anyway, so the CA certificate the college uses is "Equifax Secure Certificate Authority"

As of yesterday, I keep getting a message that says "rcp.na.blackberry.com" has expired, and it gives me 3 options: continue, cancel, view cert. The problem is that it keeps appearing every few minutes.

Is there a way I can renew the CA chain from RIM?

Re: BB CA Certificate Chain Expired??

I found some info on this. Here's a couple of links:

    1.) http://news.zdnet.co.uk/security/0,1...9118994,00.htm

    2.) http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ir-8320-a.html

    # 2 contains a temp solution:

    1. Goto Options
    2. Select Security Options
    3. Select TLS
    4. Configure following TLS settings-

    TLS Default: Handheld
    Protocol: TLS/SSL
    Server Authentication:
    Prompt for Server Trust: No
    Client Authentication:
    Prompt for Certificate: No
Prompt If Client Cert Not Found: No
(all other fields can be left as the default value)

    5. Hard reset your Blackberry
    6. Verify that email and syncing works

When RIM renews their cert you should just be able to change the TLS Default: to Proxy.
