New user - need some help with files

I'm attempting to upload .cod and .jad files so that I can install the "Scribble" theme from my desktop and not OTA... problem is, I can't figure out how to get the files onto the 8310. Do I need to have a memory card installed? When I try to copy the files to the device memory in Roxio, they don't show up (it only recognizes media files).

    Can anyone help?

in order to do this you need to transfer files using My Computer>Removable disk

once the files are transfered explore your files and select the jad file. it should load as if it was an OTA DL.

Does accessing "removable disk" only work if I have extended memory installed (which I don't have)? Removable Disk is visible but when I click it it says "please insert a disk into drive e:"

yes you would need a microSD card.

i have not tried using the bb's internal memory for such things as jad files. if it comes up in the My Computer screen you should be able to but phone memory is more limited than the memory of a microSD card.

Okay, final dumb question (I hope)

I"ve installed the new microSD card
I've formatted the card and now see the removable drive in windows
I transferred all of the files onto the drive

How do I find them? I'm supposed to select the .jad file somehow to install the theme, but I can't figure out how to 'see' that file. I tried installing them in the 'video' folder even, but it says *no videos*...

    ???

install it anywhere on the microsd card...preferably in the main folder (where it says music, video, etc) open your menu and select explore...you should then see the jad file if you transferred it properly
