Mine does the same thing. I remember reading somewhere that it does this due to decreased memory on your phone. Try deleting unnecessary things in the applications section such as the sample video that comes w/ your phone. Hope that helps! ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

My fathers 8830 and also my 8830 have done that recently and also was deleting my email and when I would talk on bb mesenger. the person I was talking to, I could not see what they where saying. there name would light up and the phone would viberate and at the top of the screen it would show that someone was talking to me but nothing in the chat room was there. Tried doing bat pulls, etc. Finally I had to wipe my phone and restore and then its been fine ever sense, and that was about 3 days ago.

As shelladee say it is because your memory is low. Alt+Cap+H will show you your free memory amongst other things from the home screen.

Lightbulb Re: My 8300 Blackberry Keeps Deleting my Messages!!!

i just recently got my curve and its was doing the same thing , when ur memory is all gone it deletes the oldest messages in there , the only thing it keeps are saved messages or messages on the sim card ... so u might have too many apps or ringtones or pics ... try getting a memory card for that stuff so the phone has all its memory for messages and what not .. .another thing is if u never turn off your phone ..well you need to once a day .. i was told by the blackberry specialists .. they said just take the battery out and count to ten ( 10) cuz the blackberry is like a computer itself ... hope this helps

So i finally Figured it out from a friend at work, hold ALT and hit L G L G and then hit ur blackberry button and delete logs, do every other day! it pays off to do that instead of loosing important text's and call logs!!

ok guys im a rep for att and i was using the 8300 and me and every one else in my store were having the same problem, we noticed that it was a recent batch of the 8300 that had came out, the only thing we could do was upgrade to the new 8310, i dont think there is really a solution! sorry!! we've done our research and found nothing.

i am a rep at att and the reason for the deletion is due to the file free in status...when it becomes 0 it deletes sms mms bbm and call logs...delete unused themes cause these files take up alot of file space...as long as u have free space u will not lose any memory....

Wow there are a lot of att reps on here. i work for att also, and i had the same exact problem. i asked my manager and he said that his did that same thing, and that changing my sim card (which is free for all customers too) would fix it. so i did and its never happened since. and i didnt have to wipe my data or clear my memory. i just changed the sim card. viola.

    hope this helps

From the home screen hold alt and type"lglg" and press menu and then clear history. It builds up over time and slows everything down

    I do it weekly
