If you can unlock the vendor codes...

There has got to be a way to do more. Like use icons from one theme in another theme. A number of pros have told me this is impossible, but -- being a newbie -- I don't understand why.

All I want to be able to do is, when I create a new folder on my BB, and pull up the list of available icons for the new folder, to be able to choose from a range of different icons, including all of the icons already on the phone.

Any ideas or explanations for the dumb n00b?

Your best bet would be to first start from theme builder and go from there. Also there are alot of theme goodies in the download section. Good luck.

Well, by unlocking the vendor themes all you are doing is causing an additional cod file to be loaded onto your BB. The Icons are embedded in the cod files.

To get Icons from one theme and put them in another you would have to be able to dig into a cod file and extract the Icon Information and then figure out how to embed it into the other in the right spot, with the right actions and be able to update the Checksum for the file. And doing all this using a binary editor. It may be possible, but I don't know anyone that would be willing to try it. It would be a whole lot easier to start from scratch and rebuild the icons yourself using Photoshop.

What do you mean custom folders? Do you want to create new folders on the Application Page? Open the Menu and look for Add Folder. Select it

The only way to do that, that I know of is to create your own theme using the Plazmic Theme Builder.
