I too, have installed a bunch of 8700 themes... they work great as noted above... Probably common knowledge, as I remember Rcbjr noting in other threads, but for those uninformed souls like me... 8800 themes also work just fine.

    Peace -

Re: 8700 Themes on Curve (FYI)

"no additional applications designed for your device were found" can be caused by not having the current Handheld system software (OS) installed on your PC. You can use this thread to find the download site for your carrier. Blackberry OS Software links (by carrier)

    Hope this helps.

Re: 8700 Themes on Curve (FYI)

hey cherri--thanks for the welcome I am currently using the DM that came with the curve--no luck--I do have to download the plazmisc reader file first right? theme file for the 8700 right? I originally had a 8703e from verizon and was just trying to use some themes I had from that and the plazmic reader from that also. Am I doing something wrong?
rcbjr--thanks I will look to see if I have the right software installed on my PC now.

Re: 8700 Themes on Curve (FYI)

NY - you DO NOT need to install the theme reader....there lies your problem. try to remove it via DM - and hopefully you have listed two ... you might even be able to remove it thru options/advanced options/applications/
    then choose menu/modules

Re: 8700 Themes on Curve (FYI)

cherri--there is a plasmic reader in the phone--I think its in there from when i bought it--has the 4.2.2.89 in there--should I remove that one or is that supposed to be there? I think i removed the one I installed already.
    thanks

Re: 8700 Themes on Curve (FYI)

If you have the com_plazmic_themereader module whose version matches the version of the BlackBerry Core Applications, Do Not Remove It!. That's the one you need. If you see it in applications with version 1.1.xxx the delete that one. If you see Plazmic Theme Reader in the list of items in the applications loader, then make sure it is unchecked.

    This should get you themming.

    Hope this helps.
