windows live messenger - HTTP Error 500??
I am trying to download the Blackberry Windows Live Messenger for my Blackberry Curve 8310 but i keep getting this message:
HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error
Any ide what this means and what i can do to install messenger?
You might want to try it again now. There was a minor outage that was effecting Internet browsers.
hi, thanks for the suggestion. its still not working - i still get Error 500 when i click on download
What site are you trying to download it from?
i'm following the instructions from the blackberry website and going to this site:
and then i click on Windows Live
Then i agree to all the terms etc and the progress bar gets about a third of the way and the HTTP Error 500 message comes up
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ this means your provider doesn't support live messenger, so you can't either download or use live messenger.
I can't remember the whole story, I think it's the license fee for live messenger is too high between rim and microsoft, resulting rim had to charge mobile networks for the service. So it's not as widely spread as yahoo and google's instant messenger.
the other alternative would be to use the web version of Windows Live Messenger > or even a IM client , like WebMessenger or mig33!
Alrite, I stumbled upon this while reading another thread....emulation...has to be set > http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/searc...00%20112516716
When using the Browser on the BlackBerry smartphone, the following error message is received:
Http error 500
To resolve this error, change the Browser Configuration Emulation Mode using the following steps:
Copyright © 2008 Research In Motion Limited,
- On the BlackBerry smartphone, open the Browser.
- Display the menu and click Options.
- Click Browser Configuration.
- Change the Emulation Mode to Microsoft IE.
- Save the changes.
- Close the Browser.
- Open the Browser
