have you tried to uninstall and renistall the app, that will usually help the situation, also make sure to restart your computer after the uninstall

if you haven't been able to sync with the desktop manager yet, there will be nothing to loose, but are you using another program like outlook or something to have the data stored, such as address book or other?

Well my issue seems to be intermittant and I have been able to sync before. I do have all my contacts saved to outlook and my other items like themes and games are saved on the pc but will I have to re-download this all or will it store in the pc and then x-fer when I re-install?

All the information you have on your phone will stay on your phone. After you have re-intstalled DM on your computer just do a backi up from your phone to PC and re sync outlook if needed. gaz. |

Be sure to do a clean uninstall. I don't have a link to the instructions but a search in RIM's knowledgebase should turn it up pretty easily.
