| Blackberry Driver for Windows
I am not sure where to put this so feel free to move it if need be. I went to the Microsoft update site yesterday and did an update on my laptop. While doing it this time, I found a Driver for Blackberry devices. What I did was hit auto update then the custom key. And low an behold, up it popped. It was under hardware. Well I installed it and have noticed a few things, First, pages seem to load faster. Second, videos load way faster. And finally, Sound is better as well as video quality. Now this is for the computer, not the Blackberry. Just thought I would share with my fellow windows users. I run windows xp sp2 on a IBM Thinkpad. You can see in the attached pic the driver being installed on my pc. It is the third line up from the bottom. http://update.microsoft.com I also need to add that I use my Blackberry as a modem. It is the only way I have to get on the web. So if someone can check this out and see if they get the same results, that would be great. Last edited by mrnoname; 08-24-2006 at 09:02 AM. |

cool stuff john. when you say you use it as a modem you just hook it up to your laptop with the usb cable and connect to internet.

For ringtones, you have to use the browser on your phone. Not sure exactly how since I don't use ringtones. For pictures, email them to yourself and save them from the email to the default album on the BB labeled "Pictures." You can also use Berry Pix and upload pics directly to the device using Desktop Manager. Use the Search button to find Berry Pix. |

This just in. RIM has updated the Blackberry Driver. Again! this is for the PC. Not the Blackberry itself. Sorry for the picture quality. I had to use my buddys Motorola V360. But here is a pic of it being installed on my INSPIRION 1300.

No offense meant, but why dont you just screen shot it instead of taking a photo?

Although I found the RIM XP drivers in the Windows Update Catalogue and downloaded, my system said they were of no help for my connected 8310. What I finally did was a custom install of the Desktop Manager. Choose a Custom install and de-select the Desktop Manager: ****forum Nazi's blocked link to screenshot on PhotoBucket***** Very fast and you don't have to clog your system with the DM if you are on a BES. |
