Hi From Australia

Hi All,

I'm new to Blackberry and from Australia. I have been viewing this site as a guest for about 2 weeks now and have to congratulate you all for the sense of community that you have installed. This goes out to not only web site moderators but the members as well.

I have a question if I may regarding PIN messages. Can a PIN message be received/sent from around the world to another Blackberry. ( I hope not a stupid question). I think it would be great to corrispond with others from over seas based on this technology.

Yes, you can. We have been IM-ing people from across the world and they get instantly. Give us your PIN and we will test it for you...

The best part of this is that no SMS charges apply. PIN messages are GPRS and included on the data plan of your provider.

WELCOME!

Just some simple text and TCP packet overhead. Bytes of information I'm guessing for both PIN and BB messenger.

Australian Service Providers

Hi hydn,

The most popular are Telstra and Optus. Then you have (3) / Vodaphone / Virgin / to name a few.

Im not sure about the smaller resellers.

that's great you guys have that many options. it helps keep the costs of services down. we have 3 providers here in Antigua and only 2 provide BB service. Cable & Wireless being the best.
