Question On the verge of BB from West Vancouver with Fido :)

    Hi,

I was fortunate enough to meet someone from Fido a couple of days ago, and given some great sites on smartphone information (e.g., Phonescoop, howardforums.com, and this one).

I am in need of a smartphone/device for a few things for school, and work once I grad this Spring/Summer.

I have had a PDA in the past from Casio, the famous Casio BE-300, and a cell phone, and always wanted something in-between. I need something that I can easily sync with MS Outlook for my calendar, as well as the ability to play the odd movie when I need it, and make necessary calls, and be a great organizer.

I've been eyeing the competition, specifically the Nokia e61i, and Sony Ericsson P1i with regards to features that they have over the BB in one phone (video recording capability, business card scanner, etc.).

The BB has some great features and set the bar, and I like the PIN messaging system.

Anyone care to shed some light via experience or opinions to sway me over to BB?

    Thank you.

    Thank you for the welcome

Now... It is either the 8820, or the 8320 that I am thinking of. Any major differences that are not advertised?

Sorry to inform you that your above information is incorrect. I am actually a Fido Technician and am using my 8310 on the Fido network. I can PIN and BB Messenger anytime I want. I can set this up for you if you need someone to help with that.

    Just PIN me ;-)

Also feel free to add me to your BB Messenger if you would like some follow up help along the way.

I'm a Fido customer however what package or bundle would I look for instead of moving over to Rogers just because of that? I know Rogers tends to have better prices as compared to Fido but if it's not a major difference then I might just stick with Fido. Let me know and thanks.

If you're looking for pinning and the like, go for the $25 blackberry connect plan that fido has. It's an unlisted plan, but it is out there.
