intro & Q. from newbie San Franciscian

    hi all,
just got my first bb pearl...it's lovely BUT it won't let me browse anymore...it freezes....all day this has happened...i'm still on my 30 day trial period, so i'm not stuck.

has this happened to anyone else?

my network is fine, (cingular-at&t) i don't get any indicator readings in the upper right corner showing no service in my area or anything....! ???

this is so frustrating! i just got this to keep up with my little daughter's school since i don't work at a computer.

    thanks in advance!
    cheers,
michelle_pearl (ps...my middle name is really "pearl" so i had to buy this!)

michelle - welcome to the stacks

have you tried a battery pull?
take battery out while phone is still on, leave out for 30 seconds, place back in and let it boot back up...

you do have a blackberry data plan with att, right?

    lol that's cool.
as for the problems. Like Cherri said pull the battery. Did you install any programs?

Next to your signal strength indicator, does it say EDGE or GPRS? (not edge or gprs)

The upper case indicates an active Data connection. Lower case indicates no data connection (and therefore either a provider problem or no BlackBerry Data Plan!). You must have all upper case - and therefore a BlackBerry Data Plan - to use the browser.
