    Smile Going to Las Vegas!

Hey everyone. I'm going to Las Vegas for the first time this weekend coming up. (the 30th to feb 2nd)
Just wondering if any stackers out there have any tips or advice to give me. I'm intersted in going to some cool bars/clubs. Not much of a gambler, will play a few games here and there. Otherwise just going out to see sin city. Take in Las Vegas.

Keep away from the blackjack tables, unless youre VERY good, your money will leave your hand quickly. Stick to the slots. I havent been in a long time (dont gamble anymore), but went every year in the 80s for conventions. Good luck.

Check out downtown las vegas for the old school sites and especially inexpensive, good buffets. There's a bunch of new buildings in LV, i grew up there in the 90's and 2000's and each time i go back there's something entirely new cropping up out of the ground.

for off-strip sites check out red rock state park which is, appropriately enough, prefaced by Red Rock Casino. Hoover Dam is really neat, too, if you feel like taking a 30 min drive through the canyons. the new bridge that connects arizona and nevada is especially intriguing when you see the height and span of this thing. Others recommend the Grand Canyon. I don't recommend it because it's a 4 hour drive, unless of course you have the cash to blow they offer helicopter rides on the way there.

Food is everywhere in vegas and it's very cheap to get a great meal from most any casino/hotel on or off of the strip.

Great thanks for the recommendations. I probably won't be playing blackjack due to my inability to know when and when not to hit. (don't play cards much) I will probably play some slots for free drinks and my simple amusement. I do happen to like roulette. Red or Black! Maybe throw a few bucks down on peoples b-days. I thought about renting a car on Sunday to go out to the hoover dam since we have to wait til Midnight for our flight. But I completely forgot that it was super bowl sunday. So its a tough choice.

Thanks guys, hope to hear more from people.
