Just found this section of the forums as well!

Wonder how many of these folk are still around!! Looks like I am going to be twittering a lot about this place! Love this forum and have really enjoyed getting to know the others here as well! Very helpful and funny!

This is being sent from the beautiful state of Tennessee! The Tennessee Volunteers (hush Cat) , Dollywood, The Grand Ole Opry, and the Great Smokey Mountains to name a few!

You truly cannot comprehend the size until you start doing road trips. It took me 3 days to get from Houston to El Paso, and when I drove from Calgary to Houston it was 4 days of hard driving, but amazing views and different landscapes. The US is truly a beautiful country, of course from experience every country in this world has spectacular landscapes we just do not appreciate it enough!

^^^we had such similarity in South Africa, although not as vast.
I did have the opportunity in 1975 to travel the whole Route 66. That was an experience. Unforgettable and a lot of fun. My age then allowed for that.
Then in the '80s I just went to NYC and travelled down the east coast till Cuba, oops sorry, Miami.
Then again, when my eldest son did his Doctorate at Berkeley (he lived in Stockton) I spent a week in Cali. Saw the sites. Great, fabulous.
The normal European doesn't have the perception of the distances... I do, I like to travel and have gone so far as Moscow. But how many countries did I cross ? The diversity is fabulous.
