Hi everyone, I am new to Blackberry. I just purchased the 8800 and have a question. All my incoming messages are set to vibrate, however I would prefer a tone only for my voice messages. However no one seems to know how to set tht up. Any suggestions?

The Voice Mail messages alert is the same as that used for SMS messages. This is because VM uses the SMS channel as the transport method.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I have a few more questions if you dont mind.

What is a Level 1 message, a desk top message, alert messenger?

    What does MMS stand for?

Level 1 messages are priority messages. You can asign level 1 classification to a filter in your BIS account. By default normally, PIN messages are asigned Level 1 status.
MMS stands for Multi-media Messaging Service. It's text messaging with image or sound files included.

    Hope this helps.

Blackberry Internet Service/ Server, It's RIM, the BB manufacterors designation for the internet service, and capability that is hooked up to your phone. If your company uses a RIM server to sort thier email ou to the BB's of the employees you would be running on the BES, Blackberry Enterprise Server/Service.
