I see the two methods OTA and File Transfer require two diffrent kind of files for the Themes.

As I cannot seem to get my 8800 to download the attachment (*.jad file) I can only transfer and *.alx file. However from this forum it appears that most Themes are in fact OTA themes...

    Any suggestions....

    Thanks...

    Welcome to the Stacks AJSG.

.alx files must be downloaded to your computer and loaded to your BB through the Desktop Manager. .jad files need to be loaded through your BB's browser. What issues are you having trying to download the .jad file?

Up to now I have only tried to load *.jad files by sending them to myself via email. In fact I am sort of waiting for somebody to post an idea or *.alx where they modify the existing Dimension Today Theme (find it very useful where new messages and appointments are displayed) and put a plain grey (or windows light blue) backround. I must say I find the picture in the backround quite distracting...

I will try and load the URL via the browser and see if it loads.

    Cheers...

    PS Thanks for the welcome...

AJSG, unfortunately, you can't email a .jad file to yourself and load it that way, it has to be direct through your browser. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks, I ended up emailing the link via email. Must say that after somebody else pointed out that changing the picture is possible in the Dim. Today theme I would be surprised to see a more useful set up.

    Cheers...

You can still direct link to load up the .jad file to your BB. Use BB 8800 connect with Desktop Manager and send through using Media Manager. When your done sending through, use your BB Media and click on Explore. You'lll see the .jad file.
