TMobile 8800 Theme

Hello Everyone! I just read an article on Boy Genius Report about the 8800 being released on Monday for Tmo. I noticed their (Tmo) theme is very catchy and bright, better than the Cingy theme. Is there anyway, I can get this theme? Im not very techincal and need basic instructions.

Thanks in advance,

Wendy

Re: TMobile 8800 Theme

I dont think he has anything for the 8800 available. There are instructions out there for unlocking the vendor themes on your unit, but I have not seen where anyone was able to get the TMo theme to come up when unlocked.

Read this thread and if you follow it exactly, you will be successful.

How did you unlock your themes? I have read the threads, but I can't find the "shared" folder on the 8800?

Thumbs up Re: TMobile 8800 Theme

Hey Hey. It has been done and man does it look sweet! I followed the link on the "how to". After performing change and saving the new bb.alx file in a different location. I deleted the original one and copy the new file back to the old location. Plugged in my 8800 and it recognized an update. And voila, bling bling baby!!!

Wooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Re: TMobile 8800 Theme

You will need to delete the vendor.xml file on your PC. Once that is found and deleted run desktop manager and plug in your BB and your BB update will be automatically found. The update takes some time. So do not freak out. Let it run with no interuption.

I have the same issue with not seeing a shared folder. I have only App loader, Modem files, RIM Device Mgr & USB Drivers.

Hold down the Alt + Shift + H keys and a help screen will appear at you. You'll need to include your Vendor ID on the lines in the Blackberry.alx file in c:\program files\common files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\Whatever directory shows and add YOUR vendor id to the theme you want. You may have to put a pipe then your vendor id. Example below.

Original
<!-- T-Mobile filesets -->
<fileset Colour="True" series="8800|8300" Java="1.0" _vendorID="100">

Updated for Sprint Phones
<!-- T-Mobile filesets -->
<fileset Colour="True" series="8800|8300" Java="1.0" _vendorID="100|104">
