Why was 4.3 OS thread shut down???

There was a very innocuous thread where someone asked when the new OS was due to be released.
Someone else posted "people please" as if that were an out-of-bounds question.

And then the thread was closed - no more responses allowed, and no explanation why the thread was killed.

Huh? What gives?

maybe because there are already about 10 "when's 4.3 gonna be out" threads already??
