I want to do this but my only concern is if I unlock all the themes won't that take up a large portion of the Curve's memory? Also why does taking the PTT out of the phone make it work faster? Sorry I'm one of those "gotta know why" people....lol |

Because PTT is always running in the background. If you remove it then it's one more thing the device doesn't have to juggle so it can run faster. Tucker |

AH ok. So I take it that when I go to switch applications all the ones it shows are the ones that are currently running in the background? Also does anyone know about the memory issue? If I load all these hidden themes will it take up more memory than if I was just using one theme? |

That's it. Things like phone, messages, Browser and blackberry messenger are the ones that are always in the background, everthing else you can close. Not sure about the memory thing. Tucker |

Ok so I just put the platform.alx file in there instead of the both cause I didn't want the extra themes yet. WHen I loaded it I unchecked the language support cause I didn't want the extra languages but PTT is still on the BB. Am I supposed to leave all the language support check marked? I tried it by just leaving the spanish support checked but PTT is still there. What am I doing wrong? DO I have to have both file in there to get rid of PTT? What should I be leaving check marked in the apps manager?

You need to delete net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod from the java folder. The java folder resides C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8300-v4.2.2.114_P2.4.0.53\Java the long numbered filed may vary depending on which OS you are loading. (This is the Optus file) |

I might be the only one who was making this mistake but just in case I'm not...The platform.alx and blackberry.alx files need to go one level below the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files directory. NOT in the \Loader Files directory itself. (For my installation, this put them in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8300-v4.2.2.89_P2.4.0.39 directory.) They replace the two existing files in that directory.

Yep, you have to insure you are editing/replacing the files in the actual OS folder. If you are using the files made by cizake, you will be asked if you want to replace the files already in the folder. Then you are gold. If you are self editing, you are already in the folder. In the same folder is the Java folder, while you're in the neighborhood, delete net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod and you have gotten rid of the PTT icon/feature in the phone if you are not on AT&T. |

Oh no my friend, that would be disaster. The platform.alx and blackberry.alx files contain a lot of other information (languages, etc) so they have to be there and edited correctly. Easy to edit with wordpad or use the files provided by Cizake in the begining of his tutorial. Just copy and paste for those. |
