[quote=cizake]Download, unzip and place both files in : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files[\quote] When I go into where this tells me to, there is no "Shared" folder when I get that far. I'm using Desktop Manager 4.2.2.12. Where do I put this stuff? Any thoughts? Tucker |

I'd post a link to the solution for this problem, but that link would take you right back to this thread. Check back a couple of pages. Hope this helps. Rcbjr ~via My BB Curve (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

I had this issue hence my post earlier today. You need to visit your carrier website. I found the Blackberry Help & Support section on 02-uk and followed links to BlackBerry handheld software files and got the file via a link called 'Download the O2 accredited version of the Curve handheld code'. Once this installed, the Shared folder turned up including a sub-folder with the .alx file you are looking for.

I get this: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4 I don't know which option to choose though, I'm new to doing stuff like this with phones. Can somebody tell me which of these options I'm supposed to choose. I have the 8300. Tucker |

For those who do not have the shared folder: Did you have an old version of RDM install on your PC? Or another RIM application? |

| Re: Tutorial - Get all hidden themes and suppress Push to Talk
Thanks for all the great info; it truly appears to be exactly like what I am looking for. However, I also do not have a "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files" folder. Without making a conscious choice to do so, I am working with a computer that is a 64-bit Vista Ultimate machine. (I say it was not a "conscious choice" because I had not realized it was 64-bit until well after I'd had it ...). I decided to try to stick with it and learn yet another "thing" (most of which has been a running dialogue of "this does not work and that does not work" with 64-bit). So, I DO have a folder that is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\" but I DO NOT have "\shared\Loader Files." I installed with Blackberry's Desktop SW V4.2 SP2. Should I reinstall using "BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.186" (which I accessed via the AT&T link in one of the postings above). It makes me a little nervous, because every time I mess with the Blackberry SW it hoses my Roxio Easy CD Creator V9 (the media manager portion appears to be linked somehow). Appreciate any feedback! -- samnjoe |

You have to download and install both the desktop manager and blackberry OS programs first. After installing the OS file you should get the shared folders. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

OK, new issue. I do have the shared folder, I put both files there and deleted the one file. I sync and nothing happens. I try to use the application loader and the files are not listed. I try to point to them via the add button and the program says there are no applications designed for my device are found. ??? Not sure what I've done or how to fix it. Any have any ideas???? Much thanks Matt |
