thanks for the thread, put the .184 with chinese on my 8320 and haven't noticed any buygs or anything yet. been using this os for about a week now. going to put the .184 on my friend's 8310 later because of the chinese input... this is by far the best phone i've ever used i think..

I have a blackberry that was created for the Centennial network (it shows the logo on power up), but I use the phone on the Rogers network...

So which do I download??

any word on a new TMO OS, i just bought my gf the new Pearl from TMO running 4.3 which has some nice new features, and i'm stuck with the damn same old 4.2 on my Curve , TMO's CS is great but their OS upgrading is always uber late and subpar when compared to other carriers.

Hi. As has been stated on this forum many many times before, an OS has to be for your model of phone - but you can use any provider's release.

You do not need a Username and Password to get to the OS downloads from their sites - just click "Free Download Area" on the left. Click "Devices" folder, then "RIM Devices" folder, then "8300" folder. You will find the OS download on the next page. (note: for Austria and Germany, after logging in by click Free Download Area, click the "Endgeräte" folder, and then "RIM Devices" folder, and then "8300") (note also: If going from one T-Mobile site to another, make sure you "Log Out" in the top left corner first)

IF YOU WANT TO UPGRADE YOUR OS...
(1) Find your service provider above, or the OS you would like to install
(2) Follow the directions for Upgrading your OS in this thread by twheeler (note: if you are updating to an OS that is not from your carrier, remember to delete the vendor.xml file before loading onto your handheld; also, loading an OS from a carrier other than yours might void your warranty if they find out, so do so at your own risk)

N.B.: If you do not have the latest Blackberry Desktop Manager, you should upgrade to it before loading a new OS. This might avoid some problems later. Desktop Manager downloads can be found here.
