Also make sure the other phone is in the file like video for example and the phone selects the recievin option to load the video. Make sure files go where they are supposed to go,

I believe when you are in the pictures file (if you're sending video you should be in the video file) in the 8100, you need to go to the menu and choose "recieve using bluetooth" then just send it normally from the other phone then it should recieve the file....i went through hell trying to send a ringtone to my friend who also has an 8100, it took me a little while to realize i should choose that option......hope this helps..

    actually i just re-read HEXED's post i think i just restated what he said.....lol

You definately have to open where you want to save the file, ie. ringtone in ringtones, photos in photos etc... and then in options select receive via bluetooth, like mentioned above.

SWEET! thanks for the tip. My co-worker tried sending me a file and I was having issues. Now that I found this tip on the forums, I was able to receive the file with no problem. It seems as though if you do not set your phone on "Receive via bluetooth" it has some kind of firewall. I guess this would be great to protect from getting a virus on the BB Pearl. ( if that is possible)

    thanks

I can't get this to work between a Samsung E900 and Pearl 8100. Samsung says connecting, p
Pearl says waiting for transfer. This goes for ever, before I get bored and stop them both. Any ideas?

    Re: Bluetooth problems

My problem with receiving a .jpg is that it keeps telling me that the file name has invalid characters. I have tried every way to label the file and still will not let me receive the picture until I name it. This is on my 8800 receiveing form a LG CU400 using Bluetooth.
