I have my Jabra hands-free paired with the 8100 and working for basic phone functionality, but when I use the media player, it bypasses the Jabra and plays back through the speakerphone. Any suggestions? I couldn't figure any settings to change this. Unfortunately BB haven't managed to updatetheir tech support page for the 8100. Aside from that, am loving the phone. A very nice upgrade for me from the 7010 which seems like a relic in a side-by-side comparison. |

I wanted to ask a quick question. A phone has to have a2dp to play music through the Bluetooth? All Nextel phones that have mp3 capabilities on them will play music through the Bluetooth, but they are not a2dp enabled. Any thoughts?

I managed to get music to play through my tmobile pearl with a regualr motorola bluetooth. It only worked the first time that I tried it. So i know it is capable. However, since then i've not gotten it to work again except when I am in a call. If you play the media player while in a call on bluetooth the sound will come through the headset. But when you end the call, the music defaults back to the phone speaker. This seems to be just a simple software issue and not hardware, does anyone know how to get this to work properly? Thanks I also read somewhere perhaps on the advertisment for the phone that it supports stereo thorugh the headsets via bluetooth. i will try to find out where I read that. |

Hello, I am a newbie here and starting to get used to my my BB Pearl 8100 features but what I really want to do is go wireless with my music and phone. I’m trying to figure out how to incoporate a wireless headset for mb phone calls & the mp3 player on my phone as well as use it for skype on my computer. The Plantronics 590A sounds like the perfect fit BUT this phone doesn't support the A2D2 support for STEREO LISTENING. Plantronics support told me today that I would still hear the music/calls but just on one side, bummer. I saw some posts that there may be software solutions, hmmm Im on a mac. I hope so cause then I would be really happy to buys these headphones and use them daily. Bberry.com says in the ad for these headphones that: “Smartphones without A2DP support (Treo 650, 700) requires the use of the bundled audio adapter.” I don’t even know if the pearl is considered smart? And this bundled adapter looks like it goes to what??? I don’t get it. Any ideas? Look forward to learning more here. thanks, paul ~ ragajazz |

Not on mine, the ringtones play on the phone like normal, all I hear on the bluetooth is a beeping tone to notify of the incoming call......... .......I can listen to music through the media player with my bluetooth, but the ringtones don't come through the BT device. |
