    Smile Bluetooth BusinesCard

    Hello everyone,

I have posted this question before and googled my hiney off, but still without satisfaction. I am new to using BB and once I saw the pearl I was sold. Finally a BB that doesn't need a trailer to take it with you.

Most people I know however are not using BB. In europe, still most people have Nokia's. Normally, exchanging your contact details when talking to someone, you would send/receive your businescard via bluetotth to their phone. Unfortunatly I am not getting this to work on my Pearl.

Is there a way to receive someones details via bluetooth to be added to the addressbook?? I really need this feature!!!

I was able to receive via media->receive file, but then I cannot open the vCrad that I received. It also will ask for pairing codes. I don't want them to have a pairing link, I just want to receive one vCard.

    Anyone help pls....

    Jacco

I dont know how to help you with the vcards over bluetooth, but there was a thread before which is similar.

basically, there doesn't seem to be any workaround or solution that seems viable. Hopefully RIM will pickup on these threads (or we could send it to them, somehow)

Even on other devices, or the ability to email a business card or something like that.

That would be a good thing to have.

That would be an excellent feature!! My old phone had the capability of doing so, but you had to have the same device for it to understand the v card without any issues!!

    Re: Bluetooth BusinesCard

Unfortunately the devices DO need to be paired. It's a security thing. Although I don't always like it, RIM has targeted businesses for the most part until the Pearl's release. Security will always be priority #1. Perhaps they will enable a way to turn this off in the future as they contribute more to the consumer market.
    Sorry.

Or at least set an exception for vcards and make an integrated, easy way to share them. Seems useful for corporations and businesses too, not only pearl users or consumer users.
