    Question Theme Problem

Hi, I just tried downloading a theme for the first time on my BB Pearl 8100 and it isn't showing up in the themes. I followed all of the instructions I found. I changed the permissions to allow on all of them and restarted but it still hasn't showed up.

I don't have the plazmic theme reader in my applications but I have it in modules, it is 4.2.1.107. I have v4.2.1.107 on my phone. The theme says it is for version 4.2.2, is that the problem?

    Thanks!

That shouldn't pose a problem. Are you certain the theme is for a pearl??

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ how did you restart? Make sure you pull the battery again and see if that helps.

Yep I've pulled the battery a few times and nothing has changed.

You might want to send a PM to the creator djsmooth and ask him if he knows what the problem is.

That may actually be the problem. Try loading a 4.1 theme and see if you're okay.

Okay, is there any quick way to see what version they are before I download them?

Argh.... You just reminded me of something I didn't do with the last theme I uploaded. I didn't put the OS number or the device name in the ota or archive file name... DARN!

    More work for tonight.

Unfortunately, no (though it may say in the ALX file). If you load up a theme not meant for your OS it can also cause problems. Most places list the minimum OS needed to run a theme successfully, as well as the model it's designed for.
