    WebMessenger Suggestions

    1. Allow for auto logins. Currently, auto login to the default account is not performed when auto login is enabled. Accounts can be switched by switching auto login off.

    2. Allow selective logins from selective accounts. This allows the user to log into just MSN to avoid an AIM contact and vice-versa. Similar to how VeriChat allows the selective selection of accounts to login if auto login is disabled.

    3. Allow parameter to not display the name of users in the message screen. For example, instead of:

    Contact> Message
    Myself> Message

We can provide more screen real estate for messages by going with simply:

    Message
    Message

Colors allow for differentiation of messages. And the user being contacted is already by default listed above in the top section. Those who have difficulty discerning colors can enable names of users if need be.

    4. Replace the > in the message screen (takes up too much space) with a semicolon.

    5. Allow spacebar to expand/collapse groups.

    6. Allow plain fonts for all contacts in the contact list, regardless of their status as status is already indicated in other ways. This allows for maximum contact list view.

    7. Allow plain fonts for all user names in the message screen. Bolded names take up too much screen real estate.

    8. When in a message, top section indicates name. OK. But the section does not indicate which messenger service the contact is on. This is an annoyance when the user has renamed the contact list to reflect real names. For example:

    aol/forexample to John Smith

Adding the associated messenger contact icon next to the username would resolve this. Yahoo! icon next to a Yahoo! username and so on and so forth.

    9. Tabbed browsing interface supporting multiple chats, similar to Yak-On.

Anything else you guys would like to add to this list?

    10. Remap shortcut to accomodate SureType devices. SureType devices have multiple letters assigned to a single key. Thus, certain shortcuts (notably h=help, n=next, p=previous and s=settings) cannot be accessed.

    11. Show number of missed messages in the Active Conversations list. Similar to the contact list.

    12. Allow for keypad scrolling of the contact list.

    13. Remove the pink/red M form the top section MSN icon as it makes it appear as if MSN is offline.

    14. Parameter to disable chat rooms (may save bandwith on both client and server sides if chat rooms are not used)

    15. Consider setting Menu > Exit to default from No to Yes. Saves a scroll. Exit is already at the bottom of the menu list, so it is safe to assume that if a user selects Exit that the user truly desires to exit the application.

    16. Blowfish support on the mobile device as Blowfish is much faster to encrypt/decrypt than 3DES.

    WMP Desktop Client Suggestions:

    1. Support for Google Talk accounts.

    2. Allow for the manual re-ordering of groups and the subsequent reflection of re-ordered groups on the mobile device.

    17. Support for the updating of nicknames from MSN servers.

    18. Allow user statuses to be set to Iinvisible, or [b]Appear Offline[b]. Since most clients now support this.

    19. Show AIM Idle status for buddies that are inactive.

    20. Additional switch for Notifications > Message > Instant Display Message to instant display only when WM is in the foreground. This allows the user to multi-task across applications as opposed to being interrupted with instant messages while tasking.

    WM Mobile IM Suggestions:

20a. For Instant Display Message, add a switch to set ESC to switch back to the previous task versus the display of the contact list.

    21. Support for multiple accounts with multiple logins.

    22. Support for Copy and Paste to the registration info (username/password) fields. Saves the hassle of manual entry.

    23. Add confirmation for Unsubscribe. Lack of a confirmation makes it too easy to accidentally remove contacts.

WM for Skype Desktop Plug-In Suggestions:

    1. Option to start the Desktop Plug-In minimized.

    2. Option to mask the phone number field. Enhances both security and privacy.

    3. Option to hide the system tray icon. The fewer icons displayed, the better.

    4. Option to password protect the UI. Prevents unauthorized changes.
