    WeatherBug Direct

I just ran across this today and thought I would share it with others. This has been working great so far on my BlackBerry Pearl 8100. It appears to be free and works just like BlackBerry's Push Weather. This application however updates more frequently then Push Weather. Enjoy!

I really like the weatherbug! but I hated having to give up the theme I was using. I guess I will have to decide which I really like better. bummers, having to make such a decision. di

Nice, finally we get an app that updates the temp on the icon. I really don't care that it goes out to the web if you open the application, but all I really want is the temp without opening a program, or using the push mail.

I got this on my BB. My only problem is finding stations close to my zip code (77489)

    Re: WeatherBug Direct

    From their website

    To open WeatherBug Direct Settings:

    1. Select the "Options" icon from the homescreen (sometimes this icon is contained in the settings menu).
    2. Select "WeatherBug Settings" from the list.
    To change your current location:

    1. Enter your ZIP Code, city, state, or city, country into the location input field.
    2. Roll the trackwheel until "Save" is selected.
    3. Click the trackwheel.
    4. Select your current city from the city list.
    5. Select your current station from the station list.
    6. Click the trackwheel.
    7. Select "Save."
    Advanced Settings

Using advanced settings, the user can configure the number of updates their BlackBerry receives from the WeatherBug servers.
The default settings are 12 alert updates per hour, six temperature updates per hour, and one forecast update per hour.
To change the number of updates:

    1. Go to WeatherBug Direct Settings.
    2. Click the trackwheel once.
    3. Select Advanced Settings.
    4. Highlight the type of data you would like to change.
    5. Hold down the "alt" key and scroll the trackwheel.
The number represents the number of updates you would like to receive in a hour.
NOTE: you can turn off updates by selecting 0

    Remove WeatherBug Direct

    1. Select the "Options" icon from the homescreen (sometimes this icon is contained in the settings menu).
    2. Select "Advanced Options" from the list.
    3. Select "Applications" from the list.
    4. Select "WeatherBug Direct" from the list.
    5. Choose "Delete" from the menu.
    6. Choose "Delete" from the menu again.
    7. Choose "Yes" when the device asks to be restarted

I dont know about this program. I like my combo of push weather and BBWeather better. Don't know why, since this is a cool concept.
