    VZW Pearl BBAlert People!

Ok, I posted a thread yesterday on how my BBAlerts App. won't work properly and the SMS and PIN alerts will only flash the normal red. I wanna know if anyone that has the VZW Pearl and the BBAlerts (1.65 Vers.) and is having no problem with it??

It's eating me up inside that it's not working right for me and I can't get the d*mn SMS to blink the color i want it to! I've tried literally everything to fix it, but it just isn't happening. Just wanna know if anyone else is having the problem! (VZW Pearl Owners)

So you checked that your own number was correctly displayed, including the "1" in your SIM card, battery pulled the phone, and checked that your number displays properly in your phone log view as "My Number: 1 222 333 4444"?

I know you said you followed all the instructions already on the BB Alerts site (of which the above is one of those instructions), but just wanted to confirm that before going further.

I stand corrected (I'm not up on CDMA model phones, have been GSM only for the last ten years).

However, I believe that BB Alerts uses what is displayed in the phone log (green telephone key) to determine what SMS's are to you and what SMS's are system message SMS's. So -- on GSM phones, we set them on our SIM cards; I'd imagine on CDMA phones, it is set elsewhere. That's where I'd start first.

As stated in your thread yesterday if youre receiving direct PINs then it should be flashing a different color. If your using BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) then it wont.

Also what version of OS are you using? options > about

I'm using BBM. I really don't care if I can't change the color LED for BBM, but i'm just focused on the SMS LED. That's the only one that isn't working! That's why it's so irritating lol!

    Verizon Wirless Pearl (8130)
    OS verison - 4.3.0.97

Could it be that I have the latest version of OS!??

Trying to help so lets go w/ the basics first. R u sure you have the SMS notify checked off in options? and the color is set to something other then red? Also in optoins "Program Controls LED" is set to something other then none?

You still have not said that you've checked the above mentioned settings.

You have the "Enable alert logging" box checked right? Im stumpped as you seem to have everything setup like I do on my 8130. Have you tried contacting the author of the program? He might be able to help you futher. He did answer a couple replies on your orginal post a few days ago. Think his handle is bbymel

Yea, we emailed back and fourth and tried to troubleshoot it. Nothing worked. At the point i'm assuming it's my phone that's giving me problems. So I just gave up lol!

One more try before giving up... maybe I am on ignore since he/she hasn't answered me.

TBryant82, have you confirmed that YOUR telephone number, including the leading "1" is displayed in the screen that you view the Blackberry call log on? Not the BB Alerts call log, the Blackberry's call log, which is accessed by pressing the GREEN telephone icon. I don't have your phone model nor your OS so I can't guide you to that spot.

BB Alerts uses the number that is there to determine if the SMS is to you or if it is a system SMS. If it thinks that the incoming SMS isn't for you (i.e. the number the SMS is addressed to does not match the number that your phone thinks it is, YOUR LED WON'T BLINK THE COLOUR YOU HAVE SET FOR SMS).

    My Number: xxx xxx xxxx

I can say that on mine the 1 is not there. Only 10 digits xxx xxxxxxx. So not sure if that would be a valid option for him to check?
