    Question v2.2.7.0 Suggestions

    A few suggestions for v2.2.7.0:
    1. When viewing a channel, the trailer (channel title) does not appear while I'm pointing at a date (default). It only appears when I move the cursor and point to an item. (This has been happening even in the prev version, I just never posted it before). When I flip from one channel to the next, via "U", I don't know where I am until I move the cursor down.
    2. Using the new Channel Rename function, could you please pre-fill it with the current Channel Title?
    3. This version does not seem to update as often at the previous versions. Actually, I do see the updating icon spinning in the lower right corner, but it often ends with nothing found (when I know there are things to be found).

O1sowise,have you tried manually closing Viigo (menu, close) then restarting it?

    Yes, no luck.
    I've also soft-booted and hard-booted, no luck.

Is there a limit to how many categories Viigo can handle?

    I have a lot

There is no limit to the number of feeds you can subscribe to in Viigo.
There is only a limit on the number of articles that Viigo can store... the max is 1000, the default is 300. Check your limit by clicking Options > Articles. If you're at 300, consider increasing this for better performance.

Out of curiosity - how many feeds are you subscribing to? And what are they? - I ask because some content providers stop publishing, and thus their feeds won't show any new content. I've seen this several times in the past.

For quicker communication - please feel free to PM me or email at jesse (dot) sternberg (at) viigo (dot) com.

    Thumbs up Re: v2.2.7.0 Suggestions

    I figured it out.

I had a handful of feeds that said, "invalid URL".
Once I deleted those, updates resumed.

btw - these "bad" feeds were added via Viigo's "Add Channel" feature.
I wish I wrote them down so you could remove them.
If I see them again, I'll append here.

Interesting. Thanks for posting your discovery. I'd like to look at this issue a little more closely... can you remember which feeds they were, and how many of them were there? I'd also like to remove them from the channel library.

Please report broken feeds you find in the channel library to feedback (at) viigo (dot) com

another suggestion: it would be really good if there is a way to categorize feeds into folders on the client side...for example, personal, business, my finances, sports, etc.

I was going to suggest the very same thing.

Then, maybe, in a future release we could assign update times per category. E.g. Finance=30m, news=60m, misc=120m, etc.

    Re: v2.2.7.0 Suggestions

Cool suggestions everyone. I'm adding them to the queue.

One thing you can do now, to improve organization, is to rename your feeds using a standardized format:
    Ie)
    News_cnn
    News_abc
    News_toronto
    Sports_raptors
    Sports_leafs

Viigo alphabetizes your main list of feeds - so this is a quick and dirty (organizational) workaround.

Another suggestion is to restrict the header at the top to 2-3x the bottom banner.
Also, the header should include the current DateTime.

    Re: v2.2.7.0 Suggestions

Would it be possible for a future release to remove duplicate posts?

For example, I subscribe to many ComputerWorld feeds. Many of them contain the exact same post. The same article frequently appears in the Storage feed and the Systems feed (and sometime a few more feeds too).

Could you match the post title and content, and if I've already read it in another feed, mark it read here too?
