Does anyone know if voice to text applications such as Vlingo, Jott and MyCaption are exempt from the recent introduction of a California law banning texting and emailing while driving?

good question. it is technically not texting but would be sent as a text and would show up on your call records as a text......

Isn't there also laws against using the phone while driving? I know some states don't allow phone usage in areas- period...even with a headset. You might want to check that out too. Please be very careful doing this.

Also make sure you don't look at your speedometer, your gas level indicator, or your engine temp level as it might distract you from the road. I am also hoping they ban texting while walking cause I saw someone almost walk into a door one time and it caused me to become distracted and I almost tripped. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
