    What is the PIN req'd for? I've never had to do that to get a license and my PIN is pretty sacred. I'll do it if it's req'd but I don't like it much.

    Would that be so they can tie the program to your 'Berry and you can't start giving copies away?

    They can (and should) do that without the PIN. I assume other companies get the IMEI somehow - never had to give a PIN up for any software license.

    I have for many of mine..........many are PIN specific and when I upgrade devices always have to give them my new one.

    I don't ever remember giving out a PIN - maybe I'm daft - I have a good amount of proprietary software on my BB - ?

    The lock/unlock won't make a difference. If should work for any BB as far as I know. They have a money-back 30 guarantee I believe.
