So I may be way above my pay grade here but...
(ask my friends and they think I'm a computer programer... ask some of you local pinstackers and they call me a noob!)

Would there be any way to associate more than one picture with an icon??
For Example how the BB Push Weather works and changes the icon from rain to clouds to sun etc...
    Is this possible??!?!?

Re: Shortcut Icons on your BB's screen

I love the concept of this program!!! But it doesn't seem to be working that well for me.

I think I have it setup properly... But there seem to be a few glitches.
The icons display properly (I have created my own PNG files and hosted them below if you would like to use them) but when I click on them I am given the white blackberry splash screen until I hit another key then the web page displays. Is there a way to have it go directly to the page without first stopping at the BB Splash Screen?

Also, every time I hit the icons that I created it says "downloading icon" I know some of you described putting the icons directly onto my BB through the media manager... which I thought I have done properly, but am unsure what I should put as the icon address in the setup program. Can someone please help me with this?

My last problem is that one of the pages I want to use the icon for is my Bank Of America Mobile site... but their site is a https:// webpage, and this shortcut utility will only let me save the links as http:// webpages... Does anyone know a work-around for this??

    -----------------------
    The icons I created are:
Rome Mobile Homepage (A webpage I created that links to my most popular used sites)
    Website: http://www.freewebs.com/robertmrome/mobile.htm

    Icon: http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...hortcut1-1.png
    ---------------
    Google Search

    http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Shortcut2.png
    ---------------
    IMDB

    http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Shortcut3.png
    ---------------
    Wikipedia

    http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Shortcut4.png
    ---------------
    Bank Of America

    http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n.../Shortcut5.png
    ---------------
    eBay

    http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...rtcut6.png.png
    ---------------

If you like the icons... I suggest downloading them as my Photobucket account is going to expire in a month or two and I haven't decided if I am going to pay the annual fee again. Also if there is anyone who wants help with creating the PNG files just let me know.

Click on the links to your PNG's above. When the icon displays in your browser, save the icon with the name shortcut1.png (for your shortcut1). Now go into the Shortcut Hub utility and clear out the Icon line (when you go back it will actually still say http://), but now your icon will load from your device's memory rather than the web. They can also be saved to the root of an SD card this way and will still be found.

The icons will not appear until the shortcut's first use after a reboot.

For New York City folks using Web Shortcuts

This is kind of a neat URL for WebShortcuts:
    http://www.ny1.com/ny1/navigation/su...mevalue_ie.jsp

It displays the current time and temperature as broadcast by New York 1's web site and refreshes every 60 seconds (maybe less?)

And here's a tiny icon for it:

I had no problems when I first installed this application until I started adding more shortcuts. Now whenever I open one I have to press the Menu key then the Back key and the site will load. A little puzzling but I'll take the extra 2 seconds out of my day instead of spending 30 opening the browser and typing in the address.

Great application, I've successfully setup The Weather channel icon with the Weather Underground site for my zip code but its lags dramatically and I hate to have to hit the "back" key then re-enter, is this a bug of some sort and this is workaround and if its a bug, is there an expected update coming soon, other than that its awesome !!
    Best regards

The icon for shortcut 1 must be named shortcut1.png, and must be in the BlackBerry\pictures directory on your SD card, or in the pictures folder on your device.

If you have no SD card, for 8100's and later, you can use Media Manager to get the file to the appropriate directory on the device.

If you have an earlier model, email the files to yourself and then save them when viewing the attachment.

There's no need to specify anything in the shortcut hub utility, and in fact it should say http:// in the Icon field. The utility will find the icon and set it after the first time the shortcut is run.
