    2. Google Sync (0.4.4) http://m.google.com

    3. Google Map (2.2.1) http://www.google.com/gmm (8110/20/30 only at this time)

    4. QSMS - Free Keyboard Shortcut To Compose SMS by www.berrycoder.com

"I know quite a few people who have asked me if there was a keyboard shortcut to send an SMS message. Just like you can hit ‘C’ to compose an email.
BerryCoder once again comes to the rescue with QSMS. If you install this application you can use the ‘Q’ shortcut to compose an SMS!
The best part is that it is free!!! You can pick it up OTA by going to www.berrycoder.com from your BlackBerry. "(via berryreview.com)

BerryCoder also has an app called MaxMem which removes apps you may not use to save memory...VAD, PTT, MDS (if you don't use a BES)...wallpaper, themes, etc...A cool app, but make sure you backup your berry first. I already did most of the stuff this app does manually, but it's cool if you are unsure yourself...just backup first.

I saw this too. But since there are a lot of risk associated with this app, I think I just leave it to more experience users .

I just backed it up with DM first...not too much risk. Like I said, I did most of this already manually via John Clark's instructions over at BBForums. Since I went to 4.5 I was starting with 13mb or less and by the end of the day I would be down to 5-9mb. The day I had 4mb and some stuff missing, I freaked out. After following Clark's instructions I had 21mb+ of memory freed up...so by the end of the day, at worst, I have 14MB free. If you don't use VAD or PTT, sample video/audio, pre-loaded wallpapers or pre-loaded ringtones you can save a lots of room. The tricky thing is the themes. I kept Dimension Zen and Dimension Today...because many 3rd party themes use Dimension Icon and I use Dimension Today mostly.

I installed QSMS and when I press Q it brings up the phone dialer and inserts the number sign
It takes many professionals versed in many different area's to help the masses, I am just a single drop in that pool.

Do you have dial from home turned off? I assume you need that set first. Call Logs app (Phone) > Menu >Options>General Options> change Dial from "Home Screen" to No, save and escape. If you do this you will have lots of shortcuts for apps on home screen. The only caveat will be in order to manually dial numbers, hit the green send button on your BB first.

    For deets see..

Oh, I did that to my bb too. What I meant in my post is not to bring this application to new users' attention, because most likely they have little experience when handling OS at first.

    Thanks for the updates
(sorry for starting the new thread about MemMax, I felt it needed its own thread)

Do we have a change log for Google maps?

I can't confirm whether there is one or not right now since my work computer IT policy blocks access to google map blog, try the following link http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/200...bile-with.html

UPDATE: It seems that new google map 2.2.1 only support Pearl 2 devices (8110/20/30) only at this time.

Google just added voice searching while in the maps application. You press the left convenience key and it say what you want to search for.

Somehow it is able to assign itself to the convenience only in the Google Maps, so it over-rides what ever you have assigned to the key.

It uses the same voice recognition as 1800GooG411, pretty nifty

Cell tower triangulation is almost exact (for me at least)
