Hi, there are 2 new beta versions not yet available with the built-in update function.

    BBScreenShooter 1.47j and BBSCreenStream 0.86k
-two values in the ini file to control the timeouts during device detection and password check to overcome a problem on slow USB ports
    connecttimeout = 127
    passwordtimeout = 255
    Increase these values if needed.

-one value to enable the rememberPassword function. If enabled the passord is stored encrypted in the ini file.
    rememberPassword = 0
Set this value to 1 to enable.
THIS ENCRYPTION METHOD IS NOT SAFE!!! USE ONLY ON YOUR OWN PC AND IF YOU THINK NOBODY GETS ACCESS TO THE INI FILE!
If rememberPassword is enabled a small "unlocked" icon will be shown at startup.

    BBSCreenShooter 1.47j only:
-fixed the saving of the color tables for the frames. Before this fix the color values have been slightly disrupted.
    -added Turkish and Spanish help

    BBSCreenShooter 0.86k only:
-one more problem with the avi creation in BBScreenStream fixed: For the file and folder name of the avi file only ASCII characters worked.

The beta versions can be downloaded here:
    http://oppitronic.de/public/tmp/bbscreenshooter147j.exe
    http://oppitronic.de/public/tmp/bbscreenstream086k.exe

    And btw:
Before someone else does this, I'll do it myself...
Here is the news, the new Idokorro Blackberry Viewer 2.0 is out.
So let's do a quick comparison between this tool and my own tools:

    My tools:
    • free of cost
    • javaloader not included due to legal stuff
    • user feedback and response (fixes, enhancements)
    • integrated update function
    • copy picture to clipboard function
    • BBScreenShooter:
      • colorful shaded frames
      • picture viewer
      • resize option
      • minimize to tray and hotkey assignment
      • jpg, png, bmp file format (no gif due to license issues)
      • auto-numbering of the screenshots
    • BBScreenStream:
      • resize with aspect ratio
      • pause function (with keyboard or mouseclick)
      • avi file video creation
    Idokorro Blackberry Viewer 2.0:
    • javaloader bundled
    • now as well resize with aspect ratio
    • now as well screenshots supported (plus gif format)
    • expires in May or will cost 25$
I guess my tools still offer more features and, what is best, they are still free of charge.

In addition the Idokorro tool still can't handle passwords with blanks.
Try to enter one and you won't even get asked again to correct it...

And now something that really shocked me:
The Blackberry password is stored in the registry in CLEAR text
That does not really follows the secure approach RIM did with the whole BlackBerry device implementation.

    As always feedback is welcome.
(volunteers to translate the help text of my tools as well)

    Michael

    EDIT:
No more need for the lates betas, the new versions are released. Use the built-in update or the downlinks in this thread.

Re: screen captures from the BlackBerry display

    @LAZ: Why?
The possibility to extract a screendump from the BlackBerry has been implemented firts in the 4.0.2 OS. All devices running 4.0.2 or higher will support it.
    The PEARL for sure.

Re: screen captures from the BlackBerry display

    News!

    Hello,
here are news from BBSrceenShooter and BBSCreenStream.
A new beta version is out with new features based on user request.

    New in Version 1.51e:
    - in the password window the corresponding PIN of the device is displayed
    - you can take screenshots from up to 4 devices connected to USB simultaneously
    - the device PIN can be included in the file name (it will be included anyway when taking simultaneous shots)
    - the rememberPassword feature works for all 4 devices as well (still no button for that, you have to set rememberPassword=1 in the .ini file)
    - when doing simultaneous screenshots a combined picture is stored in the clipboard while the files are still saved separate.

    New in version 0.88b:
    - in the password window the corresponding PIN of the device is displayed
    - you can select the device you want to show
    - the rememberPassword feature works for all 4 devices as well (still no button for that, you have to set rememberPassword=1 in the .ini file)
    - you can run multiple instances of BBScreenStream showing up to 4 devices simultaneously. (To do so copy BBScreenStream and the .ini file into another folder and rename it to e.g BBScreenStream2.exe)

Thumbs up Re: screen captures from the BlackBerry display

    OppiTronic,

I would like to thank you for your tools. This is something that simplify our life a lot )))

-Just wondering would you be able to provide me with the latest version?
-Are you still improving your magic tool?
-Does this tool work with 8300 series?
-Are you creating any other applications for BlackBerries?

Thanks a lot. Appreciate a lot for your answers!!!

    Have a good day!

    Regards,

    Sasha

    Hi there,

I just have updated BBScreenStream to fix a problem with javaloader hanging when used with OS 4.5 devices.

You can just update existing versions using the built-in updater.
Or get it from my homepage http://oppitronic.net/pb/bbscreenstream.php

If you have problems getting the javaloader set up, just drop me a PM.
