RIM's AIM Client updated to version 2.1 (I Think!)

A BlackBerry Technical Technical Solution Center KB article notes New Features in AOL Instant Messenger 2.1.

Unfortunately, it is still not available on AT&T, so I can't verify this, but have updated the version number on my Mini Version Tracker list anyway.

    p.s.
This is also listed in my new Mini Version Tracker Updates Blog. This was particularly significant, so I thought I'd post in the Forums too, but normally I'll just post to the Blog.

BTW, I'm posting in the 3rd Party Software forum because even though it's not a THIRD party program, it fits here better than anywhere else I could see.

I'm pretty sure the update won't happen automatically. You'll have to re-download the app.

    I have AIM 2.1.32 on my 8330.

I download it but it says "Service not enable for this handheld" when I try to log in, & I did the battery pull out. I have T-Mobile Curve 8320.

I downloaded it to my tmobile 8100 right from the mobile.blackbery.com. Website. Buddy icons still don't work. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I downloaded, but I can't seem to log in, on tmo. Figured it out. It works. I'll check it out for a bit, but I like using AIM w/ my gtalk.

Interesting. That's the message I get with RIM's Yahoo Messenger client, and has always been the message - meaning that the service books needed were not pulled down.

If you have access to your BIS account, you can try using the Send Service Books option there, otherwise a call to your carrier's support might fix the problem.

Then again, I haven't been able to get AT&T to fix Yahoo for me yet!

Yep. And according to AOL's mobile web page it should. I did a search on RIM's support site and found a KB article that says Avatars should show in conversation and conference screens - but nothing yet.
