radioBee Beta 1.51 free streaming radio

In case anyone wants to try another free radio streaming app radioBee has released an update, beta 1.51. I tried it for a few minutes and it's not for me.

The UI is cheesy looking and menu navigation just doesn't flow nicely. The stations I tried seemed to stream OK but there are two huge negatives, 1. it won't run in the background while I do other things. 2. volume control does not seem to work, it just blasts out loud and can't be turned down with the volume keys and there is no menu option for volume control that I saw.

But for those of you app or radio junkies that want to give it a try:

I agree, totally, with your review. I also downloaded the app about a week ago. It's light years behind slacker if you're a slacker fan

I would try radioBee cuz I'm a radio streaming junkie but after the comments I'll just stay with slacker. I have tried both flycast (quite a while back) and slacker won out. I don't remember what I didn't like about Flycast - sorry - but it got the delete button. Slacker, Nobex and Berry Tunes made the cut.

I think that had something to do with it, Clark. Slacker has great blues streaming plus other stuff I like.

Flycast always plays for less than 45 seconds before stopping and buffering for 30 seconds. I don't understand it because I have no trouble with slacker, nobexrc, or berrytunes....

I have tried flycast 3 times now and each time its the same.......I have 4-5 bars of 1XEV so its not an issue with poor service.

It's not free, but has a trial. It has a very old looking UI but tons of radio stations and also tons of streaming podcasts. You can add your own streaming stations as well(as long as the bitrate is not high) and you can use it to play your mp3s if you want as well. Doesn't look pretty, but works reliably. I use it most for the streaming podcasts.....

If I remember correctly I couldn't adjust the volume with the newer (or older) version of Radio Bee. It was the app that got me interested in radio streaming two years ago though .
