I'm a light IM user and have both Ramble and Nimbuzz on my 8800. I find that Ramble will log itself out if you aren't using it, so you can't leave it running in the background. Nimbuzz is working great and I have not tried their international calling.

Careful of Gizmo on the bb 8830 verizon. I lost ability to receive calls and lost all internet access as well as all mail push (including my corporate email).

Uninstalled Gizmo and needed hard boot to get everything working again.

Gizmo did work correctly (IM function) while installed.

AT&T and TMO have it for download on their WAP sites MediaNet and Tzones. You can get it straight from your phone.

Also can't find OZ anywhere for my 8320.

This is exactly what I need, though. I have T-MobileWeb for the very small amount of web browsing I do; the only thing that's missing is Instant Messaging, which I'd like to do with just text messages, as I have plenty of those to spare. Talking to T-Mobile rep. on the phone, she informed me that I needed the 19.99 plan just to use the IM apps on the phone, but that I would still be charged for each message as a text message. Why would I want to pay 19.99 just to be charged per message???

Think you should add iSkoot (www.iskoot.com) to your list as well.

THe IM on Curves is NOT OZ, the Pearl was the Last BB with OZ I Beleive, the Messaging the Comes on the Curves is Data ONLY, and is not charged anything after the Data plan.

    Re: Popular Instant Messaging Clients

    Hi reddog, what up?

Just trying to figure out which FREE multiclient IM would be the best for my T-mobile Pearl since my JiveTalk trial just ran out (got no extra money to purchase the full license) :-(

Mainly I need something that would keep me logged in both AIM and MSN. I already have the yahoo messenger installed though.

Just curious about one thing, I heard that G-Talk can IM AIM users too? Is this true? If so, how do I add AIM users since I really only have 2 AIM users to keep track of?

    Re: Popular Instant Messaging Clients

Thanks, I just went to the link. One question though, the site says that the messenger is free but there is a "buy" button on the site. I thought that it is supposed to be free and when I clicked on the buy button, I got a pop-up saying that the handheld don't trust the server certificate.

    What should I do?
