Glad I could help. There really is no way to make it your default browser. And once you have used it for awhile, you wont want it as your default browser. It is more of an extension to our browsers instead of a replacement. You will find that our browser is still the better browser.

    Re: Opera Mini

    Hey guys,
Sorry I havent gotten back to you to let you know Opera Mini is working on my 8703e (Verizon/CDMA) device using the 8700g version.

Initially, it did not connect. I tried it again a couple of days later, and it started working. I didnt have to modify any settings.

    All is well.
    Thanx for your help.

    Re: Opera Mini

I'm a day-old BB newbie and finally got Opera to work (adding the TCP info above) on my TMo 8700.

I've just started playing with it. Not sure yet if I like it. In any case, at the bottom of the screen I see "Menu" and "Back" (or "Stop") at the bottom of the screen. I realize these functions can be accessed by pushing in on the scroll wheel. Just curious of there is any way to access these screen buttons, or if they are just nonfunctional graphics on the BB?

You can use the "Q" or "P" buttons on the keypad to use these options.

    Re: Opera Mini

Has anyone that was having the problem of not being able to establish an internet connection worked out what the problem was/is? I just dl'd opera mini on my 7105t and haven't been able to get it to work. All my other internet apps works just fine... I've reviewed everything suggested here and even removed my battery, etc.

    Re: Opera Mini

just downloaded opera mini yesterday. i like the fact that they don't redirect you to mobile sites when they are available and it seems a little quicker than the BB browser.

however...are there ANY shortcuts on getting around. (i have the 8100)

the only one i have found is the SPACE bar goes down the page quicker than the pearl ball. but i have not found a button that goes back up the page. also, i can't click the ball to use the menu, i have to keep scrolling to the selection i want then hit the RETURN key.

    any shortcuts??

    Re: Opera Mini

I've got a 7130c through Cingular, and although the Opera site says that it only supports 7130e, I've already downloaded the program and it certainly seems to be working fine. Will Opera Mini continue to operate well on my phone or will it catastrophically blow my phone into bits are the least opportune moment?

    Re: Opera Mini

Hi there folks. Reading this thread with interest...an admitted noob at the 8100, but like to think I'm not stupid.

I'm having a similar issue to what beq had upthread...I'm trying to install opera-mini, using t-mobile. I have BB data service, the standard browser works fine, and I have correctly installed opera, and have wap.voicestream.net in my TCP advanced prefs.

Every time I try to get opera to go, it just bricks. "failed to connect to the internet"...tried an uninstall-reinstall too.

Any help would be appreciated! Cheers,G

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
No need for ports. Options>advanced options>apn
    Tcp:wap.voicestream.com

    That should do the trick!

Well, it's not working. I think I should uninstall it & re-try. Any suggestions on how to uninstall ?
